We am in Munchen now!  Or more commonly known as Munich, Germany.

Day 6 of our exciting trip is coming to an end soon and we will be leaving Germany in less than 2 hours.

shopping spree at new jersey outlet mall!

yesterday all 3 of us had our first off day and we wanted to go shopping at woolbury which is the famous factory outlet store at first. but we were limited by the train and bus schedules. lucky we found out that there was an outlet mall in new jersey just 30 mins from manhattan at new jersey gardens =) this was our first time taking public transport too. so we got on the hampton jitney bus to nyc and took nj transit to nj gardens.

shops there included victoria secret, levi’s, abercrombie and fitch, nike, old navy, gap outlet, h&m etc. i spent the most in ld navy as i had to get working pants/berms. the good thing is hampton jitney will cover up to us$45 for our pants. shiok man.

my loots for the day are:

my first pair of levi jeans at  us$36.99 (which is about 5o sing), 1 nike tshirt at $12.95, 1 hooded pullover at $24.50, 1 old navy tshirt at $5, 2 pairs of old navy slippers at $2.50 each and my working pants & berms at $29.50 and $19.50 each. SHIOK!

today i got another off day. esther went to work and josephine will be going sooan. maybe i should head out to the city alone and explore a bit. better than staying at home and doing nothing right? but the journey is long (abt 2 hours from here to nyc). ok la think i will go. anyway our bread has finished, at least i can buy some bread from the city too haha.

for once it’s good!

omg.  I went JB with Stanley on wed and with all the ‘Selamat Hari Raya’,  ‘Selamat blah blah blah’  banners hanging everywhere along the streets, I told him seriously,

“Hey I just realised… Mas Selamat’s name got a ‘Happy’ inside leh… correct right?”

And that rude fellow didn’t even bother to acknowledge what I said.  He just plainly gave me a ‘let’s change topic’ look.

 

If not for this, I would have long forgotten about the once infamous

Mas Selamat.

Until I saw him on TV just now.

Yes he was just caught.  In Malaysia.

 

I am really starting to believe that I would seriously end up setting up a store in chinatown one day.  (I just remember how I ‘predicted’ lydia sum’s death too!  So scary lah!  And Ys and Zh’s car accident. )

omg.  my mouth really like shit like that lah.

But at least it wasn’t a bad thing this time round!  Haha alex see see!  I know you secretly think I am a jinx =(  But I am not k! 

 

Oh ya and I just checked.  Apparently ’selamat’ means ‘safety’, not ‘happy’.

But either way, I bet Mr. Mas is not feeling so ’selamat’ now after all. =)

 

Well, JB was fun.  But I had forgotten to charge my phone and it died on me after lunch.  So no photos! =(  (I think must wait TWO years for him to send me his)

But I must say, not only are the prices significantly lower as compared to singapore, the service there is DAMN GOOD.  I am serious.  I feel like a princess there! 

ESPECIALLY the ktv.  The room is super big and the air con is good! (eh urm not like our chinatown one lah.  still must squeeze in one tiny sofa.)

But the shops they have there were not that fantastic though… And we didn’t eat any seafood!  Super wasted! =(

 

Oh ya alex your favourite bubble tea is selling at only 1.80RM over there!  Next time your birthday we know where to bring you go celebrate already =)

Ok I shall go watch my dramas already.  Must finish before Sunday!

And Sherine I miss you already =(  Please be safe in Taiwan.  (though i think by the time you see this you would be back in sg alr haha)

The Curious Case of Philadelphia Cheese

Pushing me lightly, Mummy came to wake me up at 9 this morning, “Aren’t you supposed to make cheesecake for zh’s birthday today?”. Amidst the morning grogginess, I could still feel the remnants feelings of last night’s disappointment and frustration over the mysterious disappearance of my most vital ingredient. “No I didn’t make.. I couldn’t find my cheese.. Think the stupid Prime man forgot to give it to me.. I’m going to get from him later,” I mumbled.

“Isit the one in white rectangular box? I found it in the dustbin just this morning!” came mummy’s reply which instantly jolted me out of bed. “I was thinking why you would throw a proper box of cheese away. After double checking the expiry date I salvaged it and kept it in the fridge for you!”

“OMG really but there are supposed to be TWO boxes. You only saw one ah?”

“Yah seems like only got one…”

We both headed outta the room and went straight to inspect the suspect. And there it was, the other box of Philadelphia cheese that had eluded me for the entire night, sitting comfortably in the coffee table DUSTBIN.

Replaying last night’s events in my head, I am very certain the cheese was bought during the first trip to Prime, confirmed by the receipt as solid evidence. Collected only one bag of stuff, headed home and straight to the kitchen. The entire bag was placed on the kitchen table, and all other ingredients were intact. Who in the right state of mind would take out the two boxes of cheese and dump it in the living room dustbin?!

Strangest incident ever. Makes me wonder if there is a new friend in the house (since my sista has moved out and there is an empty room now). Otherwise I suppose it’s me that has started sleepwalking.

lost and found!

“Can I touch your breasts?”,  he asked cheerfully.

 

“Yes”, I replied.  A little too enthusiastically perhaps.

It was over in less than maybe 20 seconds.  But it sure felt like 20 years.

Before I turned to leave, I still managed to blurt out a very polite “Thank you so much!”.  Yes, with a smile plastered on my face all the while.  WTH.

 

So ya, this basically sums up how my medical checkup today was like.  (Sounds like some porn fiction hor!)

I feel damn violated! =(

Haha and all along before the checkup I was worrying about whether the doctor will laugh at the granny panties i was wearing lah…  I had no freaking idea the checkup would turn out to be so damn… cool.  (Oh ya YY, meixuan says you probably would have slapped the doctor because you think everyone is damn seh and keeps fantasizing about you =S  Hahahhahah!  Mx told me abt the upskirt incident on the bus!)

 

Still feeling a little traumatised after leaving the clinic, I asked Sherine if the doctor asked to erm… touch her breasts.  And she said that the doctor asked if he could CHECK her breasts.  Sounds 1000 times better lah!

 

Haha but it’s ok because I am damn happy today!

I actually found my cardigan that I lost when I was out with Yueshan YESTERDAY! 

I had no idea where I left my cardi at… So The FIRST place I decided to try my luck at… was MANGO.  And I didn’t even feel like asking at first.  I mean, it’s MANGo!  If my cardigan was there, it would probably be in their dustbin then.

 

But TADAA… MANGO actually kept my lousy piece of jacket… With the gold orbiang safety pin (I used to replace a mising button) still intact! =DD  Damn happy lah!  

 

So after that, I practically skipped my way throughout to the clinic.  With a sick and grumpy Sherine alongside (Grumpy partially because she was sick, and partially because she was disgusted with my awfully good luck in finding my cheapo cardigan)

Ok but my cheery mood sure disappeared after the trip to the clinic.  Haha but Sherine was definitely the more traumatised one and I had a fun day shopping with her after that and occasionally looking her in the eyes while asking her…

THE MORNING AFTER!  Damn freaky lah…  alex if what I said about ‘cai hong’ and ‘christmas’ REALLY comes true… please kill me =S

 

And talking about freaky, my hairs are standing now.  All thanks to meixuan (Thanks arh! For all the super duper nice horror stories!) =)  YY can you please tell your dear good friend not to be soooo nice please… My heart cannot take it I think.  Now I FULLY understand why you are so afraid whenever ah king starts his ‘bang bang bang’ story.  How I wish I have more friends like soon tat who will rebut EVERY single horror story with logical explanations or scientifical reasonings.  Oh ya YY heard that you have no internet connection at your workplace! =(  Guess I won’t be seeing you online often then… you take care k!

Nocturnal Friends

After suffering a night of Victor’s cold jokes and a few bridge games with a few not very good players at Timbre last night (gotta add the pizza was not bad but failed to make it to the Heavenly list, the band was good but performance too short), I headed down to the Night Safari with ZH, Lichun and Sissy tonight.

I started out pretty darn excited (gotta be those super toned men blowing fires that sparked off the excitement heh) but as the night grew on the excitement slowly died down. I swear I’m getting old; it has been proven that after 2 hours of continuous walking the grouchy monster emerges. Dunno how I’m gonna survive 30 days of walking, walking and more walking in Europe… hopefully there are lots of toned men blowing fires all around over there cos it’d certainly help SER kill off her boredom, while I stare at ZH’s photo in my wallet.

Anyway, the animals spotted were mainly from the cat family – fishing cat, civets, leopard, hyenas etc. The leopards were ZH’s favorutie, looking majestic yet possessing graceful walks which commanded respect. When they came up close and personal, I got fearful although I know for a fact that there’s a barrier between us. In addition, the red-furred Fying Giant Squirrels were darn cool, they can actually glide up to 400metres from tree to tree! One of them glided past right in front of our eyes and it was like a superhero come to life. Other creatures were the norm, but there was a ultimate cutie that stood out from the rest – the SLOW LORIS!! Its super slow movements reminds me of myself being so nua and lazy. Really wanna keep it as a pet then the both of us can nua at home together.

Just makes u wanna pet pet it!!

Me and Sissy started stoning and dragging our feets around after 2 hours.. then we decided to leave and search for a supper place.  To our dismay the only dish we ordered – carrot cake – didn’t even arrive after 15mins so wtheck, we just left and headed home.

On a sidenote, the H1N1 virus is pretty worrying considering we’re flying off in a week’s time. Damn suay that it has to happen during this period. When I went for the flu vaccine today, the docs was like ‘I wouldn’t be traveling if I were you now’, so much for reassurance! The only point to take comfort in is that the mortality rate is pretty low so far – around 5% (16 deaths out of 381 infections in Mexico) – so even if we get it (touch wood) we will most prob survive it cos the world simply can’t do without the 4 prettiest babes and 2 hunks

SER, time to come out with the shopping list for Tuesday ya!

the morning after

alex chee.  I am waiting for you to get online! =(

We are really not fated lah…  I guess we can only communicate here or over at fb.  And I thought I was nocturnal enough to catch you online everyday lah.  Eh wait, or should I have come online in the morning (Singapore timing)?  Let me know k!  I think by the time when you FINALLY webcam me and show off your super shiok ‘mini-hotel’ room, your room would be covered with cobwebs already lah. 

It’s 3 plus now and I think i will wait till morning to call the stupid florist to confirm the order.  Because I am damn sure I won’t be able to wake up so early in the morining if I go to bed now.  And Leon says he can’t wake up too since he is still happily prawning now.  So Joonie Wong, you owe me a meal. =)  And remember to thank yueshan k!  She paid for the flowers!

Ok anyway I watched this short story by Christine Suchen Lim (I think so) a few days back and it’s called The Morning After.

It’s about how this gay son (see lah alex, I keep thinking about John now =S) finally came out of the closet and told his family the truth.  Anyway the gay son was acted by the joakim guy from Singapore Idol.  And after saying the truth, all the ah beng brother of his said was “ok wad! wads wrong?“ and he proceeds to give his gay brother a pat on the shoulder.

Damn sweet.  I like him.  Shit lah it just made me like ah bengs even more lah.

However to my disgust, I later found out that the ah beng actor’s name was… Alex Chee.  Same surname somemore lah!  I think I really miss you too much already lah alex. =S

 

But it was really quite a sweet show that in my opinion, is not very realistic.  I guess the gay kid in the story really got lucky to have such a family.  In the end, the family accepted him for who he was.  Anyway alex you should watch it, maybe it would change your impression of JOHN =DD  Don’t be so biased against gays k!

hello from new york!

hello my beloved friends in singapore!!

thanks for setting up this blog to stay in touch. got effort leh. choose my photo so nice oso. hahaha.

well its my third night in bridgehampton, new york. everything’s so far so good except for the weather. its very COLD. in the low 20s i think, natural aircon everywhere. should have brought more jeans lo. now the 3 of us are a bit sick, with symptoms of the swine flu! but i think its just the normal flu la (i hope).

anyway, tomorrow we will start our training. so for these past 2 days, we lived like a tourist, basically exploring (and we got lost for a while when we were walking back to our house. the americans unfriendly one lo, knocked their door dun wan to open). we are staying with our landlord aka flora and her husband (dunno its rodney or runny or funny). they are both blacks. i cannot get rodney’s accent because it is very deep but my sis apparently understood. i just stood there and smile =)

the place is beautiful, as u can see from the pictures i post on fb. btw, siew ee, im so glad u quit RC. its a boring game!! yue shan, time to quit too. i guess i should start from where we left to give u an idea of what we went through to the best of my memory.

the china airlines plane ride to taipei was about 4hours with inflight entertainment (those personal tv screens with latest movies like marley and me, curious case of benjamin buttons etc). not bad i must say! ok i was flipping channels when i decided to watch marley and me. i watched halfway when they announced that we were reaching. i could continue later i thought. but after transiting in tao yuan airport where i had a very sucky zong you bing and dou jiang, to my ultimate sianess, there was no personal inflight entertainment!

KNS!!!! all they had was a big screen where everybody shared. damn sian no marley and me liao.

from taipei, we flew to anchorage in alaska for another transit. it took about 10 hours? from there its another 6 hours to new york. by the time we reached, its about 840pm. when we came out, the taxi uncles were damn aggressive. keep asking us where we going despite we telling them we waiting for someone/made a reservation/not interested. they still say we bluff them lo. wth. bluff u for wad. u think we fly all the way from singapore, endured a long 18 hours flight just to come here bluff u?!

made my first reservation using a public phone to go to fresh meadows, queens where we had to wait for our employer (hampton jitney)’s bus. our driver was called matt and he’s nice. made some small talk on the journey and he told us not to worry about the swine fly. haha. took a pic with him too.

the bus came and there were 3 filipino colleagues, who were just like us going on the program, waiting to receive us. their names were winston, jacky (a chinese immigrant from philipines and i think he was damn happy to speak to us in chinese) and this gay guy called john. are all johns gay?! i dun like the name john due to some idiot in sch and i think he is gay too. (for more info, ask me privately). i thought i wont have to hear that name for a while, at least for 1 month. but less than 2 weeks after sch ended, another john appeared in my life. this john told us frankly that he dun like girls when my sis ask him wad is there to do on off days and he replied he go on dates.

met nesa, another filipino girl, the next day. they invited us to go see their house which is just 5 mins walk from our workplace. it was a blue house where 4 filipinos and 2 thais lived together. i thought its how cool to have the whole house to themselves. but once i got in, the thought of coolness immediately disappeared. the whole house was quite messy with not much ventilation and the kitchen stank with unwashed plates. the beds were just piles of mattresses. it just looked like a place that germs would like to live in. they enthusiaticately invited us to stay with them but we rejected them in a nice way. they pay the same rent as us but we got a much much better place even though its a bit far from our workplace. so thank god.

will post some pics soon as im still figuring how to use the pic functions. the time now is 1242am, 1st may. shall update more tml =)

hello blog, goodbye RC!

Yah I get to write the FIRST post! so happy lah! =)

 Ok actually I am being forced to.

 

It’s 5am now and ah shan kept asking me to blog because she says it’s damn embarrassing if someone visits our blog and can’t find any entry at all…

And yes we do have visitors k!  Our stat hits is now THREE hahahaha!  (and yes ah kiang you are one of them haha) 

And hence, here  i am trying my best to think of what to write while my dear friend ling yuet shan is playing with her beloved…

 

RESTAURANT CITY a.k.a. RC!

Ok but I have to admit…  Not too long ago, RC was my beloved too!  And this is how my super cool restaurant looks like:

And yes, I still cannot believe how I spent HOURS looking at my RC characters cook and eat, cook and eat =S

 

And it was during exams!  I think I spent a longer time staring at these ‘people’ than at my notes lah…

But my restaurant was really popular k!  It was always full house! =D   

 

And of course, I had fun competing with my friends!

P.S.  This blog was set up mainly for the purpose of recording the memories and thoughts of THREE very forgetful friends, especially since alex is at New York City (work & travel) now, while yueshan and me are going for our graduation trip in Europe next week! =DD  Hence, this blog will serve as a journal for us and also, a medium whereby shan and me can keep in touch with alex chee! (since he is now forever not online!)  I have no idea who will be so nice and even bother to read our pathetic blog… but if you happens to be reading this… welcome!  And yes I know this is a super ‘nth-better-to-do’ post… I am sorry!
